Enjoy your retirement Dr. Harp! We wish you all the best!
My name is Vernon Harp and I have been a veterinarian of cats and dogs since graduating from Purdue University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1968. I have enjoyed internal medicine, surgery and dentistry at Macomb Veterinary Associates (MVA) since graduating 46 years ago. During those years I have developed wonderful associations with many clients and with many of their children that now come to MVA with their pets. My interest in pets goes beyond my work at MVA, since my wife and I have a cat named Nala, two dogs named Nike and Sugar, 4 birds and a fresh water aquarium full of many varieties of cichlids. I enjoy golf for recreation and travel for fun. Giving up part ownership in MVA years ago has not lessened my interest in seeing the practice grow and offer quality medicine, surgery and dentistry. Please give us an opportunity to show you what we have to offer as quality pet care.
Dr. Dietlin (Barr)VeterinarianI graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. I also have a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from MSU. I have been a life long Michigan resident and local to the area growing up in Armada. Before coming to practice here, I practiced both large and small animal medicine in Sandusky, MI. Also, I practiced at a small animal hospital in Port Huron.
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association; the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association; as well as local Associations. My involvement in organized veterinary medicine has me representing the Thumb area on the MVMA Board of Directors. I am a part of the MVMA Power of Ten Leadership academy for recent graduates. Also, I am on the small animal clinic advisory panel for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at MSU.
I love dogs and cats, but grew up surrounded by hunting dogs and I am still surrounded by my Yellow Labrador, Cooper. (Although, he prefers Mr. Cooper if you're meeting for the first time) I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!
ErinPractice ManagerI started in the veterinary field in 2006, and have been here at Macomb since 2012. I am often the one you're talking to when making your pets appointments. The person greeting you when you come in, and chatting with you when checking out. When I'm not at work I enjoy horseback riding. Most evenings I am at the barn taking care of Spud and playing with our barn cats! I also have a dachshund mix Chili, and 2 cairn terriers Hershey and Bailey. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

There is never a dull moment in the Calka household. On our days off we enjoy going up north and the great outdoors, but the most joy we get is spending time with family and friends. With that said I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.
